What we do.

We bring opportunities for meaningful wellness engagement while lowering barriers of access and approachability to food and health.

Growing Roots activities include:

  • Hosting in-person workshops and programming in an effort to increase access to whole health wellness practices and food growing techniques.

  • Assisting in the planning and development of community gardens in Grundy, Franklin, and Marion Counties.

  • Providing space for thoughtful conversation on food sovereignty, equity, and justice.

  • In partnership with local schools and camps, STEAM-based scholastic youth garden programming.

  • Maintaining a Free Community Seed Bank and the Growing Roots Resource Library at our headquarters in Tracy City, available for public use.

  • Working in close collaboration with other local nonprofits and social organizations to organize community projects and refer relevant services to our participants.
